PICK UP & POLICIES

Pick Up Instructions

Chick orders are first come first serve. We will be hatching weekly, and filling as many orders as possible in the order they were received through the website. Once your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email and are added to our list to receive chicks in March, April, or May. All inventory will be added in February for what I expect to hatch over these 3 months. Your hatch week will be determined by where your order falls on the list. We do not guarantee a specific hatch date, but will reach out to you via Text or Email once your order is coming up so you have at least 1-2 weeks to prepare for your new arrivals. If there is a Week you will be unavailable and CANNOT pick up your chicks - please specify in the comment section at check out so we can make proper arrangements. 

 

Any chicks we are unable to use for pre-orders will be posted to our Facebook page for anyone to claim. These are chicks that are already hatched and ready for immediate pick up. They will not require pre-payment. 

Pick ups are done at our home, and MUST be scheduled in advance. We work full time jobs during the week and make plans during the weekends. Please be respectful and reach out in a timely manner if you're unable to make your pick up time. Chicks are boxed up prior to your arrival and will get cold if you're late. Please do not show up without a designated day & time for pick up.

 

There is a 3 chick minimum for purchase. Chickens are flock animals and do not do well alone. We strongly recommend purchasing 4 or more at a time. If you're introducing young birds to an existing flock it is best to have a good sized group. This makes the adjustment period easier on both groups, and makes it harder for the older group to single out any of the new birds to pick on. 

Order Cancellation 

 Please do not place an order if you're not fully committed to waiting for your chicks to hatch. Cancelling orders through our web platform is tedious and charges fees for doing so. If you do not want to commit to the pre-order process please follow us on Facebook @jonesbackyardhatchery and wait to claim any "Over-Hatched" chicks there as they come available. 

Return Policy

We cannot under any circumstances take back any birds once they leave our property. Bringing in birds that have been on another property increases disease & Parasite risk and threatens our Bio-security. It is the buyers responsibility to find homes for any unwanted Roosters or chicks if it is determined you cannot care for them any longer. 

Refund Policy

We DO NOT under any circumstances send off chicks that are acting weak or sick in any way. Only active and healthy chicks are packed for homes. Chicks are monitored for the first 24 hours of life at our home and then we guarantee the health of our chicks for the first 24 hours AFTER they leave our care. After that it is assumed the owners responsibility. If you are a first time Poultry owner - PLEASE do your research prior to pick up and ensure you have a safe & proper set up for them. Refunds will be issued for any chicks that pass away within 24 hours of leaving our care. 

Hatching Egg Policy - There is no guarantee of hatchability when you purchase fertile eggs through the mail or in person. Many factors can cause a fresh, fertile egg to become inviable. Please know you bare all the risk and responsibility when buying hatching eggs. Hatching eggs are Non-Refundable. 

Utah Shipping

Chicks are guaranteed live arrival. If any chicks do not make the trip, please notify us immedietly upon arrival.
